La Barra Brava have come through

I got confirmation yesterday that a gentleman who read my appeal to the Barra Brava fan club for DC United has collected a whole load of soccer gear--4 boxes. Now I just have to pay for shipping. Most of the things will go not to my soccer boys, but to poor families in the neighborhood.

The thing is, I have already invested my own money, and earlier sponsorship money, to get the 24 boys balls, socks, and shin-guards---those are all available here rather cheap.

But every day another kid shows up who wants to play. These kids come from the neighborhood, and by the clothes they wear, I can tell that they are not well-off.

We will have a little Christmas when the boxes arrive!!
